Please note that at a few places LalKitab does say "Rashi" (sign) number" but this pertains to the house number, and rightfully so. In a LalKitab based chart, Aries being the sign of the first house, the house number (khana number) is the sign number (Rashi).Therefore, there should be no confusion.

My dear friend, there is no mention of Sign (Rashi) in the chapter Rahu khana number 1 in Lal kitab-1952. I think there is some serious mistake in the book/chapter you have mentioned .
