[astrostudents] Re: Pakka Ghar no.4, Lal Kitab - 1942 page 20. Type of profession.

Dear Vijay Ji,

In Vedic or traditional Jyotish, 4th Bhava , House or Khana is known as SUKHA BHAVA. The 4th house being a quadrant, forms one of the 4 pillars of Jyotish on which the Horoscope is founded. Moon is the natural Karaka of this Bhava. This house rules vital matters  related to Mother (Significator Moon),Vahan Sukh (Significator Venus),Home, building, Land (Mars,Ketu),Motherland (Venus ),Childhood, wealth from real estate, Education, especially formal education (Budh), Maternal relatives, luxury, happiness, cultural heritage, good/evils from maternal side, and also Karma inherited from Mother side ( quite a few of these matters are examined from the Divisional Charts related to the 4th house, like Chaaturthansha, Hora Chart (Not the type of placing the planets in Leo and Cancer sign but Kashinath Hora, Dwadshansh, Shodshansh,Chaturvinshansha,Khvedamsha ,Akhvedansha etc.

In Brihat Parashar Hora Shastra the 4th Bhava is called Sukhabhava and the short description is given as :- If there is Sukhesh(lord of 4th) or Lagnesh and the Bhava is aspected by Shubh Grahas, oen gets full GeSaukhya. Sukhesh in own house, own Navamsha Or in exaltation helps the Jatak to Sukha of House,Land,Vehicles,Mother,Geet and Vadya Sukhas. If the Sukesh is in Kendra or Trikona alongwith Rajyesh (lord of 10th Bhava), Jataka can get to stay in Rajmahals./Rajaprasad. Apart from the position of the  Sukhesh, thus stated, if Budha is posited in Lagna, the Jataka becomes Bandhu Poojya.

The 4th Bhava creates a direct  Argala(intervention) on the Lagna.  Generally malefic planets like Sun,Mars, Saturn,Rahu (in the increasing order of  their malefic strength or nature, can considerably damage a chart. However, these effects get altered, due to Chara Karkattva and the rashis of these planets in the 4th house.

I would like to add here that the 4th house also belongs to general public and the planets situated in the 10thouse can reflect the relationship of the Jataka with the public at large.

In general we can see, Bandhu,Matri Sukha,Budhi (Not Budhimatta or level of intelligence which is judged from 5th house), Sukha, Shanti, Friends, Entertainment, Sthavar Sampatti, problems related to lungs, Heart region,Arts and General education. Happiness in disposition, with relation to position of Moon and Venus. Mars in 4th sign of Kaal-Purusha  is considered debilitated, and it can cause unfortunate happenings (like poverty, anger , family disturbance ,sour relations with parents, troubles and problems related to property and real estate business, laborer like conditions in early part of life, because Mars will have Argala on the Lagna, the traits of Mars like bellicose disposition, short–temper, hard heartedness can be seen in the Jataka. But, Mars in own sign or Taurus, reduces the negative  impact on the nature of native, as the fire of Mars is quenched. The 4th bhava is also considered as place of mating, love affairs etc. Similarly other planets in the 4th house confer different shades of personality and sukhas or dukhas to the native. There are hundreds of such combinations and effects of planets on the 4th house, depending upon drishti, position in Kendras or Trikonas in the chart. The  karkaa (significant)  rashis are Karka, Makar and Meen. Karaka planets are Moon and Venus and BUDH in this bhava. Many renowned Jyotishis like Dr BV Raman have also called the 4th house as the Paataal, Naadir like.

In nutshell the planets in 4th house will generally impact the 10th house (house of Karma, profession, job, Work, Vyapaar etc (7th from 4th) and the vice-versa too. Both houses can motivate or de-motivate the Jataka, because of the fact that  the 10th house also creates Vipreet Argala against the Primary Argala from the 4th house. I will stop here, because both you and I can go on, but this group is basically for discussion on the LK, and any reference to traditional jyotish can create lots of doubts in the followers of LK and the members of the Group. This was the  only reason, I wanted to understand your reference to traditional Jyotish while analyzing the 4th  Khana with reference to LK, which was confusing. With my best wishes.

So I presume that when you mentioned traditional astrology, you meant LK. There has to be a way out, sometimes, you will appreciate.
