Dear Jitin,
Varaha Mihira was a great astrologer/astronomer considered a genious of the 6th century AD. He wrote a number of sanskrittexts on both astrology and astronomy. His most famous textbook is known as 'Brihat Jataka' (or 'Varaha Hora' in South India), considered one of the most authoritative textbooks on Hindu astrology by many prominent scholars.
I have the following textbooks by Varaha Mihira in my library: 1) 'Brihat Jataka', in three different editions, dealing with astrology 2) 'Daivajna Vallabha' dealing with Prashna, meaning Horary Astrology, 3) 'Pancha Siddhantika', a work on mathematical astronomy integrating the five Siddhantikas of ancient Hindu Astronomy, and 4) 'Brihat Samhita', two big volumes dealing with astronomy, astrology, divination, omens and a number of other subjects.
