As far as my undertstanding of the topic :
It is in serial order . any planet come first in series of 1,2,3, up to 12 will be called pehle, any planet immediate next to it will be called beech or darmiyani grah and next to the darmiyani grah will be baad wala grah.
suppose i) saturn is in 2nd , rahu is in 3rd and ketu is in any house from 4 to 12 will be called as saturn pehle, rahu darmiyan and ketu baad mein.
or in simple case any planet in house having small number is called in pehle, in house having highest number is called in baad ke ghar and any planet in any houses in between the houses of two planets is called darmiyani or beech wala

In Arun Sanhita 1952 page 382, After the table given for sani ka swabhav
with respect to rahu\ketu.
Please explain:
"Pehle beech aur baadh ke gharo mein se kundli ke 1-2-3 ke 12 tak ke
kram se pehle beech ka aur akhir ghar hoga yani 3-5-7 ke gharo me
teen pehle, pach beech ka aur saath akhiri khana hoga".
Does it means that 1,2,3 houses are first houses (pehle ghar), 4 & 5 is
middle house (beech ka ghar) and rest 7 to 12 is last houses (akhiri
ghar) as per table.?
